Vacancies are spread across three broad postings.
- Mess Cook — prepares daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner for battalion personnel
- Camp Kitchen Cook — cooks at temporary or field deployment locations
- Training Centre Cook — prepares meals for trainees and instructional staff

Eligibility Criteria
The baseline requirements are straightforward and applied consistently across recruitment cycles.
- Minimum 10th standard pass
- Age generally 18–25 years
- Prior cooking experience not mandatory, though it strengthens an application
- Medical fitness as per CRPF standards
Salary and Benefits
Pay sits on Pay Level-3 of the central government pay matrix, with standard allowances layered on top.
